Nintendo knows what it’s doing…
I pulled part of this (see below) from engadget’s site. This is what I’m talking about – Nintendo is thinking of their core audience: the gamers. And as I’ve said before, there are a lot of people out there like me who value the “playability” of a game over the amount of mist they see when their characters runs down an alley…
Nintendo views “online gaming as essentially an enhanced way to enjoy the gaming experience and drive more sales of hardware and software,” and that Nintendo “will offer online-enabled games that the consumers will not have to pay a subscription fee for. They’ll be able to enjoy that right out of the box. The Wii console is going to be Wi-Fi enabled, so essentially, you’ll be able to plug it in and go. It won’t have hidden fees or costs.”
And with the DS integration, I can only imagine how much fun this will be. I hope they release Zelda at the same time. It’s usually a Mario themed game (although, the sample of Metroid they included with the DS was a pretty cool thing to do).
